This is the home of Axiom Products where I study peak performers trying to understand what makes them different. What I learned is:
- Peak performers behave differently because they think differently.
This led me to focus on the teachings of Jesus Christ because I became aware that the teachings of Jesus highly correlates to the behavior of many peak performers. But, for this study to make sense you can’t just take the Bible literally and must always look for a higher meaning. Maybe this was why Jesus spoke in parables, but this is a topic of much debate. Regardless, Jesus spoke in parables.
Malcolm Muggeridge, the conservative British journalist and satirist (March 24, 1903 – November 14, 1990) said:
- Every happening, great and small, is a parable whereby God speaks to us, and the art of life is to get the message.
So, whether you believe Jesus was the son of God or an average Rabbi, I believe you can choose any other 10 peak performers throughout history and they collectively will not measure up to the impact of Jesus. So, he is the subject of this study which has taken place over many years.
I find it enlightening to interpret each experience in the Bible as depicting some aspect of your nature and my nature. These are aspects of each of us and the principles that are there are universal and eternal. I think the Bible is a book of instructions about how to live a more successful life.
In the New Testament, John 14:12 states that Jesus said:
- Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
It is this and many other statements in which Jesus makes it clear that any of us can live a successful life if we practice his system. By successful I mean today, right now:
- We should use it to make the sale, get the promotion, score the point.
But what exactly is the Jesus Christ system? Here I am presenting my interpretation of Jesus’s system as a series of behavioral steps that are explained in the About link. I will just refer to it as the system. It works well for me and it can for you too.
Now, another truth. G.K. Chesterton, in his book “What’s Wrong with the World” states:
- “The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting. It has been found difficult; and left untried.” The reason it is difficult is because it requires us to change, you and me. It is about transformation, both physically and mentally.
You see, we are not here to be better human beings. We are here to be transformed from our lower to our higher nature. Apostle Paul’s letter to the Romans in Romans 12:2 said:
- And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
That was echoed by a bumper sticker I saw once that said:
- We’re all here because we’re not all there.
This is true in the sense that we are living mostly from our lower nature. We need to get all here and live the abundant life as demonstrated and taught by Jesus.
- A caterpillar can’t be held responsible for not knowing it is a butterfly, but we can. Meaning that Jesus lived and died teaching and showing us who we really are; spiritual beings having a human experience.
So, if you take this effort seriously and faithfully follow the system, you will have a peak experience. An experience that is far above human nature. When that occurs, it makes further changes in our thinking easier, much easier. It makes the idea that all things are possible a reality. All you want to do it to keep getting that type of experience, to keep them coming since they are truly great experiences.
The system can be thought of much like a portal where, knowingly or unknowingly, we are either inside or outside of the portal. I find myself going up and down the steps throughout my day but I always try to stay inside of it.
The famous football coach Vince Lombardi said:
- “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.” I find Jesus’s system to be the preparation for the game of life.
And, Martin Luther King Jr. stated:
- You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.
So, if you want more from life and are willing to work for it then this system can work for you.
