About

The system consists of 12 ascending steps that I call The Way Up. Notice the steps get narrower as they go up. The encasing circle represents a portal and the steps are within a delta triangle where delta means change. The first step and starting point is Acceptance. The narrowing of each step represents a higher level of consciousness than the previous step and thereby requires greater focus.

  • Moving to and maintaining a higher consciousness can be difficult but Jesus uses this pattern throughout his teachings.

Once you achieve and can maintain the higher consciousness, move on to the next step. But because it can be difficult, this endeavor must be taken seriously to work, and it takes time, but there is no time limit. Each step has a link to its detailed explanation and tooltips are available for a quick summary.

Remember that the purpose of the system is peak experiences, in other words:

  • A conscious contact with God.

When it happens, you will know it. There is a defining moment of clarity of awareness, a kind of a phase shift in consciousness along with a wonderful, relaxing feeling. Here God is now able to provide feedback to us that He is pleased; much like a parent rewards a child for good behavior.

  • Sometimes these events are small, you know the ones; first an insightful thought immediately followed by a warm feeling around the area of the heart. Sometimes they are profound; time slows down and “everything is clear”.

Genesis 1:27 states: “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” God is therefore both male and female: Thinking and Feeling.

  • The only things we have total control over are our own thoughts and feelings.

Thomas Edison famously said that “Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration.” When I first started studying Jesus’s system, I made a deal with God that I needed more like 50/50 and that I was willing to do what was necessary to achieve that. You see, throughout his teachings, Jesus has made it clear the we must make the first move. In the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 6:33), Jesus said:

  • seek first the kingdom (mind) of God and his righteousness (right use of), and all these things will be added to you.

The way I summarize Jesus’s system is:

  • the finite (us) can never influence an infinite (God). It is very much the other way around. It works for me.

But, the problem for me became how to keep track of my spiritual progress. Sometimes things just didn’t feel like they were working as well as they had been. Given the intent of this work, a conscious contact with God, it was understandable. So, that is why this system was originally created, for me to keep track of my progress.

Working with this system is a very personal and private endeavor. Since the kingdom of God is within (Luke 17:20-21), this is very much a journey of self-awareness and learning. Learning that there is more to you than just your personality, much more. Before you begin, a good starting place is to do something another peak performer did. His name is Tony Robbins, and to be clear, I don’t know Mr. Robbins. But I do know that the 7 Day Mental Diet by Emmett Fox was an early starting point in Tony’s career.

In Joshua 24:15, Joshua states:

  • “choose this day whom you will serve”. I take this to mean to choose between our higher or lower consciousness. I developed a habit of extending this wise advice to the practicing of the diet. When negative thoughts come, I say to myself “choose”.

A very important requirement of the system is that is has to be lived and cannot just be learned. For example, I came to believe that every thought is a prayer. So, when I looked at my thoughts collectively, I realized that some events in my life were the result of negative thinking; I was beating myself. But the fact is I had control over and could change my thinking. This is how the journey began for me.

I have been practicing this system now for over 20 years and still visit it daily as a consciousness status check. I use it to measure where I’m at on single issues in my life as well as life as a whole.

Once you feel you’ve completed the diet and you’re ready to begin, start with Acceptance. The site is mobile ready so you can view it at will.
